Yep, I'm that huge.
So, according to a friend of mine who is studying these things, and a very reliable quiz on Parents.com, I am "gearing up" for labor. What does that mean? Well, probably that I will eventually have this baby. I have about a month to go and let me tell you... I'm ready. We finally got the LAST large thing we need for La Bebe today: her mattress. Our bags are packed, the carseat is installed, the diapers are stacked, her room is ready, her clothes are washed... if she decided to come tomorrow, we'd be perfectly prepared. I don't think it has sunk in yet, though. I know, I know. How can someone with as much obvious girth as I have still not have come to terms with the reality that YES, I AM HAVING A BABY! (?) It's just been a constant countdown. I remember August 3rd, sitting on the couch, calling Shenandoah Women's Health and saying, "I just found out that I'm pregnant, and I need to set up an appointment." Since then, it's been a lot of waiting. Waiting for that first appointment, waiting to reach the 2nd trimester, waiting to find out what gender the baby is, waiting waiting waiting. I'm still waiting. I've gotten so used to waiting that I'm not exactly sure what I'm going to do when I don't have to anymore.
The fact is, in a little over a month (assuming she cooperates---unlikely) Jordan and I will have a daughter. A beautiful, wonderful, baby girl. And knowing that makes things a little more real. I can't wait to meet her.
